This week we’ve put together a list of internships, trainings and other opportunities for African undergraduates and student entrepreneurs.

Customer Service/Social Media Marketer

Company: Terawork (E-Commerce)

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos

Position: INTERNSHIP

Position Description

The role is basically to achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy, website traffic and revenue by strategically exploiting all aspects of the social media marketing road map. Salary: N40,000 – N50,000.

Responsibilities

Build and execute social media.

Generate, edit, publish and share meaningful content daily.

Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content.

Moderate all user-generated content.

Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

Collaborate with sales department to manage reputation, identify prospective clients and coordinate actions.

Requirements

Social media savvy.

Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.

Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.

Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels

Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organisational ability.

Yakoyo Campus Ambassador programme offers a unique opportunity for students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and across Africa to be part of a dynamic and highly trained experienced team of online strategists. They are looking for an enthusiastic Brand Ambassador to be the face of their company and promote their products and services in Yabatech. Salary: N20,000

Responsibilities

Prepare and execute Yakoyo presentation, promo events etc. within their university.

Handle different promotion action.

Handle student sign-ups.

Acts as a campus contact for Yakoyo team.

Proactively seek for opportunities to promote Yakoyo in different campus events.

Act as liaisons between Yakoyo and their university.

Requirements

Applicant must be a registered full time undergraduate of any tertiary institution in Lagos.

Applicants should have knowledge of and be willing to scout and attend all the exciting and biggest events on campus as well as able to organize events on or off campus.

Must be familiar with Yakoyo.com and her process of operation.

Must be involved in student organizations and activities within the campus community.

Emotionally and socially intelligent.

Must be Popular and influential within the campus community.

Online marketing officer

Position Description

Rushing Tap is a video production and marketing agency that works with clients to tell their brand stories. In recent times, we have begun managing online presence of some of our clients, which include social media management and content marketing. We seek a story teller, who is very expressive in writing content and is familiar with social media and digital marketing tools. Design knowledge is also a valuable skill. Salary: N50,000 – N60,000

Applicants should be very comfortable with online marketing tools and social media channels. We will be using some cloud based operational tools like CRM and project management/tasks so you should be able to work with that. Plus you need to own a smart device (phone, tablet or laptop)

MakeItChallenge

The MakeIT Challenge is a competition that will challenge teams of students from various secondary schools to compete in building anything they can imagine with recyclable materials. The Make-It Challenge is sponsored by Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and Lagos Innovates and organized by Teens Can Code, an organization helping teenagers living in low-income communities of Nigeria access coding classes, by bringing computer programming courses directly to their schools.

The goal with MakeIT Challenge is to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in a non-traditional learning environment, as well as to help teenagers have fun in the process of working.

The Grand Prize Winners will receive a ₦100,000 cash prize, the first runner-up gets to receive ₦75,000 cash prize while the second runner-up will receive a cash prize of ₦50,000. Alongside their cash prizes, the winners will be eligible for a relevant free skill acquisition programme which will provide the real-world experience of participating in the transformation of their idea to a live product.

Eligibility

It is open to all creative students across Nigeria.

The required age is 10 to 21 years.

A minimum of two students in a team and maximum of five.

A school may have more than one team submitting different projects.

Global Good Fund Fellowship 2019 for Young Social Innovators

You can now apply for Global Good Fund 2019 . The Global Good Fund Fellowship aims at developing social entrepreneurs and leaders who are impacting societies.

Through the fellowship programme, the Global Good fund invests in the human capital of high potential leaders who are committed to addressing some of today’s greatest social challenges.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for the fellowship, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements.

An enterprise that the candidate leads must be at least a year old.

The enterprise must have at least one full-time employee in addition to the leader.

The candidate must be committed full-time to running the enterprise.

The candidate must be under 40 years of age.

Candidate should not be currently receiving coaching/mentorship support.
