Over the last 5 years, Feature Shoot has helped launch the careers of dozens of photographers through The Emerging Photography Awards.

They have a great lineup of judges that are ready to see work of all genres for fall 2021. And this year due to economic hardships faced by many in the photography community, they’ve also lowered the submission fee to $25.

One of their main goals of the Emerging Photography Awards is getting the work of photographers seen, this year the arts will be viewed by tens of thousands of people in person across the UK and (of course) internationally, online.

This year, 3-5 selected photographers will be featured as part of FORMAT21 Festival in the UK. FORMAT is the UK’s leading international contemporary festival of photography and related media and the festival welcomes over 100,000 visitors from all over the world to its biennale. In addition to this exhibition, another 10 photographers will have their work exhibited on the streets of East London for a week as part of a group poster exhibition.

Selected photographers will receive one or more of the following:
- $1000 Cash prize
One photographer will be selected by Alison Zavos, Feature Shoot Founder, to receive the Grand Cash Prize of US$1000 to pursue their photography projects. - Group photography show at format21 festival in the UK
3-5 selected photographers will be featured as part of FORMAT21 Festival in the UK. - Group poster show on the streets of London!
10 photographers selected by the judges will have one of their images exhibited as part of a week-long poster exhibition on the streets of East London. - Feature shoot Instagram takeovers
One photographer each week until the closing date for entries will be selected to ‘takeover’ the Feature Shoot Instagram with 3 images from their submission (reaching 235K+ followers). - People’s choice awards
Soon after you enter, submissions will be featured here on our website and be up for a People’s Choice Award. Entrants are encouraged to share their post on the blog and every 2 weeks Feature Shoot will award the entry with the most “hearts” a copy of all of the Feature Shoot PDF photography guides, including 50 Top Photography Websites Accepting Submissions. - Winning announcement
Announcement of all winners will be posted on Feature Shoot and through our social channels and newsletter (reaching a combined audience of more than 500,000 photography enthusiasts).

- All photographers not currently represented by a gallery or photographers’ agent are invited to apply.
- Photographers of all ages and backgrounds working across all genres including (but not limited to): fine art, landscape, documentary, portraits, fashion, and still life.
Eligible Regions: Open for All
Submitting to the Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards is easy and should take less than 3 minutes. Please make sure you have the following ready:
- Up to five (5) images from any genre of photography.
- Size: at least 760 pixels wide (JPEG or TIFF format)
- Please title images: (your first name_last name_number 1-5.jpg). Example: Alison_Zavos_1.jpg
- A brief bio and description of the work you’re submitting.
