Enhancing Women Participation in the African Space Industry – Essay Competition 2019
In commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Space in Africa is calling on female students and young professionals in Africa to submit an essay to address the gender gap in the African space industry.
So, they want to hear from you! In 500 – 750 words, tell how we can get more women in Africa to pursue a career in space science and technology.
Essay topic: “What will it take to enhance the participation of women and girls in space in Africa?”

Benefits
The author of the winning essay will receive a scholarship (up to $USD500 to cover airfare from home country to Morocco) to attend the Global Conference on Space for Emerging Countries coming up in Marrakesh, Morocco between 24-26 April 2019.
The winning essay will be published on Space in Africa.
Top 10 finalist essays would be published in Springer’s Southern Space Studies Series
Eligibilities
To be eligible for the essay contest, you must:
Be a female between the ages of 18 and 35 years
Be a citizen of any of the countries in Africa
Be available to attend the Global Conference on Space for Emerging Countries coming up in Marrakesh, Morocco in April 2019.

- The submission shall include the original essay in PDF, Doc or Docx format and a head-shot photo of the author.
- Note: Previously published essays, either shared online or offline, are not eligible for consideration.

Glocal International Teen Conference (GITC) is a platform for teenagers to address the issues and overcome the challenges that they have faced in their daily lives.

Fourth IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest
Are you passionate about nature? Do you worry about how your environment or the places you have visited since childhood are being modified? Do you like photography?
Now you can participate in the Fourth IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest: My Place in Nature.
The contest is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers worldwide.
Launched in the framework of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s 70th anniversary, this new edition of the contest seeks to promote knowledge of the different ecosystems of the world, as well as their current status and changes, by inviting photographers to share their stories on ecosystems and show us your very own place in nature.
Capture the essence of a place or event in nature that has left you a lasting impression due to its beauty, power or uniqueness and share images of any ecosystem, either free from human intervention or altered by it.
The goal is to make use of the communicative power of photographs to promote the conservation of both ecosystems and the diversity of species that live within them through knowledge, and we can all participate!

Winners will be announced on IUCN Red List of Ecosystems social media and exhibited at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, to be held in 2020 in Marseille, France
The winning photographs will be published online on the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems website and social media, as well as in promotional printed materials at IUCNs sole discretion.

The contest is open to all photographers, regardless of age, gender or nationality and professional skill levels.
Entrants under 18 years of age (“Minors”) require valid written and signed permission from a parent or legal guardian (“Authorized Representative”) through the parental consent form, which can be found within the submission form.
