The Bridge House College (BHC), an educational institution in Lagos, has awarded a scholarship worth N9 million to David Orisheneye to pursue a two-year Cambridge A’ Level course in the College.
The scholarship award, according to the sixth form college, is in recognition of the brilliant performance of the prodigy, who in addition to obtaining a parallel A1 in all the nine subjects he wrote during the May/June 2018 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), conducted by West African Examination Council also scored 332 in his JAMB.
The N9 million scholarship will cover boarding, tuition, books and uniforms while the program lasts from September 10, 2018, to June 20, 2020.
In a letter conveying the award to the recipient, Carmen Latty, the college administrator, said the scholarship was in fulfilment of BHC’s tradition to celebrate academic success and to encourage students to pursue academic goals.
“Your very brilliant performance in the May/June 2018 WASSCE where you obtained 9As in subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and went on to score 332 in JAMB all at the age of 15 caught our attention,” the letter read.
“The board of directors, management and staff of Bridge House College heartily congratulate you and hereby offers you a full scholarship to pursue the two-year Cambridge A’ Level Course in the College effective September 10, 2018, to June 30, 2020.”
